Former U.S. Women’s Soccer Star Wambach Arrested for DUI

After the Central Precinct Sergeant made the stop, he contacted Wambach and observed signs that she was under the influence of alcohol.
A traffic division officer responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. Wambach failed filed sobriety tests and based on the test failure and other indicators of impairment, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants.
She was handcuffed and transported by police to Central Precinct in Downtown Portland for a breath test, which she failed.
Wambach was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on a charge of DUII. According to jail records, she was released on her own recognizance after processing.
Wambach was polite and cooperative throughout the investigation.
