Portland Fire and Rescue Puts Out SE Portland House Fire
Wednesday, February 10, 2016
Portland Fire and Rescue responded to the two-story house fire, located on SE 42nd Avenue, at 6:39 AM on Tuesday, February 9.
When rescue crews arrived, emergency responders saw smoke coming from the eaves of the home and determined there was a fire in the attic. Crews made sure all occupants had gotten out of the house and began working on putting out the fire.
The home had a remodeled roof and, as a result, it took extra time to open the attic space that was burning to put out the fire.
Portland Fire and Rescue’s Arson Squad have determined that the origin of the fire was in the house’s attic. The cause of the fire was an electrical problem.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. The home’s occupants were not displaced as a result of the fire.
