Fire and Rescue Responds to NE Portland House Fire
Wednesday, December 02, 2015
Fire and Rescue raced to a home on NE 32nd Place just before 7 AM on Tuesday after the report of a fire. The fire was reported on the south side of the home. When firefighters arrived they could see smoke billowing out of the inside of the residence.
When crews first entered the home, they found two residents that resisted leaving the home. Firefighters eventually were able to clear the residents of the house and found the fire in a back bedroom. Firefighters were eventually able to extinguish the flames, which did not go out easily due to excessive clutter.
One adult male in the home was transported to Emanuel Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. In total, five residents were displaced, along with their two dogs.
Fire and Rescue reminded residents to evacuate any home or building immediately when they see smoke or fire and call 911.
