NEW: CNN Names Portland as one of “Best Places to Dine With Celebs in U.S.”
Thursday, December 18, 2014
"People love supping with celebrities," says CNN. "Restaurants love them too."
They, in fact, love them so much CNN felt it was necessary to name off the top cities to spot celebs while chowing down on a meal. CNN gathered their choices by "scouring gossip sheets, shaking down publicists and pushing the outer limits of local harassment laws in pursuit of the eateries favored by celebrities."
The usual suspects of New York, Los Angeles and Miami make the list, as does Portland.
Portland? Yes, Portland.
CNN indicates "Stumptown has recently become a refuge for celebrities of all stripes drawn by its verdant geography, progressive ethos and beards." They point out recent sightings of Jerry Seinfeld at a food cart pod and Reese Witherspoon at Tasty N Alder. And made sure to point out that Bluehour, despite "recent chef shakeups" continues to be a fashionable draw for celebs of all stripes.
Not mentioned: El Gaucho (favorite of sports stars), Jake's and The Heathman (favorite of music stars) or Veritable Quandary (favorite of John Oliver) who have all lately seen their share of celebrities.
