Dining In Portland: Fleetwood Mac & John Oliver at VQ, Bernadette Peters at Heathman

Spotted in Portland: So where do rock stars and news stars dine when they are in Portland? Veritable Quandary that's where, at least for John Oliver and members of Fleetwood Mac.

Attorney Kohel Haver enjoyed quite a night on Friday at John Oliver's show at the Keller Auditorium. Not only did he go back stage—with a pink box-full of Voodoo Doughnuts in the shape of "salmon guns" in reference to the salmon cannons Oliver lampooned on his show "Last Week Tonight"—he also had dinner at the nearby Veritable Quandary.

And who else was having dinner at that lovely Portland dining establishment. According to Haver John Oliver himself was dining at the VQ as well as members of Fleetwood Mac who were also spotted dining at the VQ prior to their show at the Moda Center.

In other celebrity dining news, GoLocalPDX's own Byron Beck, (that's me), dined with songbird Bernadette Peters at the Heathman after her show with the Oregon Symphony at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. Beck was joined by his partner Juan Martinez and KGW's Reggie Aqui and his partner Phil Heuring.

Truth is, I was too nervous to eat, but I did have one of her roasted brussel sprouts while Bernadette enjoyed a platter of Oregon oysters.

Down at Dante's that night it was all about pizza and music. That's where Macaulay Culkin (of "Home Alone" fame) played with his band Pizza Underground. That particular band plays only pizza-themed cover versions of Velvet Underground songs. No word if Culkin took a bite out of a piece of pie from neighboring Lonesome Pizza.
