Patriots Gronkowski a Minority Owner of Vegas NHL Team

Wednesday, November 23, 2016

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is among the minority owners of the NHL's newest expansion team, the Vegas Golden Knights, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell.

The Knights will start play next season (2017-18) and will begin to build their team through an expansion draft that is set to take place on June 18.

Vegas is the 31st team in the NHL and the 15th team in the Western Conference. The team is also the first major sports franchise in Las Vegas.

Gronkowski missed the Patriots last game against the 49ers with a chest injury and is not expected to play in the Patriots game this week against the New York Jets.

Minority Owners

According to Rovell, other minority owners include MLB star Jose Bautista and former Boston Bruin Mark Recchi, among others.
