Washington County New ‘Nature Passport,’ A Free Guide To Outdoor Destinations
Thursday, September 04, 2014
The intention of the nature pass is to publicize specific parks, forrests, and wetlands and help people learn about places for outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, birding, wildlife watching and more.
Each entry in the passport features images, facts, and detailed contact information showing the types of amenities that are available at a specific location. The pass also has spaces to put a special stamp to show you've been to a particular destination.
The county spans 727 square miles, many of which are comprised of rural wetlands, forests, nature parks, and wildlife refuges.
Washington County describes the nature pass as "a handy portable guide to some of the best nature spots in the area."
Interested persons can sign up for a pass online and expect a one- to two-week delivery time.
