ISIS Claims Responsibility for Killing of Yemeni Governor

Monday, December 07, 2015

On Sunday, ISIS released a statement claiming responsibility for the assassination of Yemeni governor Jaafar Mohammed Saad.

Saad was the governor of Aden, a strategic port city on the southern coast of Yemen. Saad was a supporter of President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi, who recently returned to Yemen after fleeing to Saudi Arabia when Houthi fighters took control of the capital city of Sanaa.

GoLocal teamed up with Graphiq to highlight the total number of terrorist attacks and threats in Yemen, the fatalities and injuries that resulted from those attacks, and specifically the fatalities and injuries that resulted from assassinations.
