Corvallis Teen Shoots Man with Pellet Gun in Marijuana Robbery

Yesterday, April 22 at 2:55pm, Corvallis Police Officers were dispatched to SW 2nd St and SW Madison Ave for a robbery that had just occurred. When officers arrived, they located the complainant/victim, 39 year old Christopher Walker, who had been shot several times in the arm, chest, and face with a pellet gun. Initially, Walker said he had been robbed by a man as he walked to his apartment from the Corvallis Skate Park, according to police. 

Officers learned that the robbery happened inside Walker's apartment in the 200 block of SW 2nd St. 

Police identified the suspect as 16 year old Thomas Alexander from Corvallis, who was an acquaintance of Walker's 17 year old daughter. Police said Alexander had been invited to Walker's apartment to smoke marijuana, which Walker was going to provide, but when Alexander entered Walker's apartment he pulled a pellet gun out and pointed it at the Walker. Alexander demanded Walker give him all the marijuana he had in his possession or get shot with the pellet gun. Walker refused to give the Alexander the marijuana, and was shot with the pellet gun several times. Walker sustained minor injuries, and still had one of the pellets stuck under his skin, according to police. 

Police said that after shooting Walker, Alexander attempted to leave the apartment, but Walker grabbed him by his backpack and tried to stop him from leaving. As the two men fought, a 38 year old female relative of Walker, who was present with her infant grandchild during the robbery, picked up a kitchen knife and cut the suspect on the forearm, according to police. 

Alexander fled the apartment on foot but was later located at Good Samaritan Hospital where he sought treatment for the cut he received during the robbery, police said. He was taken into protective custody and transported to the Linn Benton Juvenile Detention Center. 

Alexander was charged with One count of Robbery in the Second Degree and One count of Assault in the Fourth Degree. Police Investigators recovered the pellet gun used in this incident at the scene, along with approximately one quarter pound of marijuana.
