Portland has best hotel Wi-Fi in U.S.

Portland has the best hotel Wi-Fi quality in the U.S. with a high quality test score of 66.7 percent, according to HotelWiFiTest.com

Of the hotels that offer Wi-Fi, 86.7 percent have it free of charge, according HotelWiFiTest.com. 

Portland is also tied with Albuquerque, New Mexico and Austin, Texas for the best free hotel Wi-Fi access in the nation. Seattle’s hotel Wi-Fi quality score is 56.7 percent with 64.6 percent of hotels in Seattle having free Wi-Fi.  

Global travel industry site Skift, found that 80 percent of the top 50 tested countries on HotelWiFiTest, have better Wi-Fi than the United States. The United States sits at number 40 for hotel Wi-Fi quality, ahead of France and Spain and behind Brazil and Russia. The United States has a overall score of 35.9 percent. 

The country with the best hotel Wi-Fi quality is South Korea, with a quality score of 92 percent. Asia has the best hotel Wi-Fi overall at 50 percent, with Europe close with 46 percent.
