With Easter quickly approaching, Pix Patisserie has pulled out the tasty, yet forbidden, "Kinder Egg" treat for daring Portlanders to enjoy.
While these Eggs are very similar to the traditional Kinder Eggs, these are crafted in a way that gives them only the illusion of being the “forbidden,” European sweet.
In the US, Kinder Eggs are banned due the fact that there’s an inedible object inside the egg, but that’s not stopping Portland from enjoying a good piece of chocolate.
“These are called Pix Surprise Eggs and are eggs hand-dipped with a layer of white chocolate and a layer of dark chocolate. Each egg contains a traditional French ceramic toy imported from Europe for the full effect of these amazing little eggs,” according to Cather Manterola, a spokesperson for Pix Patisserie.
Pix Surprise Eggs cartons can be purchased at the shop for just $30, and they may also be shipped anywhere in the country.
Pix Patisserie is located at 2225 E. Burnside St. Their hours are M-F 4pm- Midnight and Saturday and Sunday 2pm-Midnight.
