Equity Foundation Awards Funds to All Grant Applicants
Saturday, June 13, 2015
Equity is a community foundation that focuses on social, economic, and political equality.
Each year, the foundation awards grants to non-profits with budgets of $500,000 or less and that have a focus on LGBTQ equality.
Equity is able to give more than $50,000 in grant funds to non-profits throughout Oregon this month. They were able to fully fund nine of the twenty applicants and partially fund the other eleven, according to Karol Collymore, executive director at Equity.
Of course, the awardees have expressed a great deal of gratitude for the award.
“We cannot express how thankful we are to the Equity Foundation for this generous grant to fund Cascade AIDS Project’s supportive housing programs. Because of Equity Foundation, more people will be able to find stable housing and, as a result, will achieve better health outcomes in the treatment of their HIV. Equity Foundation understands that housing is healthcare and is investing to make a real difference in our community,” said Peter Parisot from Cascade AIDS Project.
