Starting May 1st, the Portland Opera brings the timeless story of "Show Boat" to the Pacific Northwest.

In 1927, "Show Boat" revolutionized America with its poignant storylines and unforgettable music. Over the decades, this story about three romances remained in the public memory through both film adaptations and theatrical performances.

Keeping the show’s legacy alive, the Portland Opera performs "Show Boat" with a 60-member cast and a 38-piece onstage orchestra.

If that’s not enough to impress the audience, there will also be over 200 period costumes that go from bustle skirts to flapper dresses.

Visually stunning and narratively riveting, "Show Boat" is bound to inspire applause as beloved songs such as “Bill,” “Make Believe,” and “Ol’ Man River” reverberate with elegance throughout the auditorium.

The show begins May 1st, and will have additional showings on the 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th.
