Boom Arts Presents A One-Man Fantasy Play
Wednesday, January 21, 2015
Real pigs and poetic theatrical language from five countries come together in Spanish-Argentine playwright Rodrigo García’s free-form one-man fantasy play. Fragments of the Ibero-American economic crises make for great dialogue on the value of art in a consumer society. How can art bring up the soul when the ATM has little left to give?
Staging is motivated by UK director Jude Christian’s 2014 London production at the Gate Theatre, and stars Portlandia actor Ebbe Roe Smith.
Stay after the performance on January 29th and February 5th-7th to hear what the director and art history scholars have to say about the play and its importance.
'I’d Rather Goya Robbed Me of My Sleep Than Some Other Son Of A B*tch,' will be held at Disjecta Contemporary Art Center, 8371 N Interstate Avenue, 7:30 p.m., Jan. 28-29 and Feb. 5-7. Buy tickets HERE.
