Friday, May 22, 2015
Robby Davis, GolocalPDX Contributor
At this event awards will be handed out to outstanding professional and amateur athletes, teams, coaches and administrators from different levels and sports. This award ceremony initially began in 1948.
ESPN Sportscenter Anchor, Neil Everett, will also return to host the ceremony.
High school students who have aspirations to join the journalism and broadcasting industry will have the chance to co-host the event alongside Everett. In order for students to be considered they must upload a short video of themself demonstrating their broadcasting skills with an explanation as to why they deserve to co-host the event. A link to the video must be tweeted to www.twitter.com/ORSportsAwards with the hashtag #BeLikeNeil. Entrants must also include their name and the high school they attend within the video. Submissions are due by May 25th.
The pre-show reception will begin at 6:30pm and the award ceremony will start at 8pm.
