Not all neighborhoods are created equal in Portland when it comes to finding a place of worship. FindTheBest found the parts of Portland that are the most and least religious, based on the number of religious organizations per capita.

King neighborhood is rich in religious organizations, with 73.7 places of worship per 10,000 people. Eliot comes in second place with 59.3 places of worship per 10,000.

Sylvan-Highlands and Maplewood are the least religious, with 38.8 and 35.2 religious organizations per 10,000 people, respectively.

Find the Best also found the most prevalent kinds of places of worship. The winner? Christian (Miscellaneous), with 124 churches in the city, followed by 66 Baptist churches and 62 Catholic churches.

Overall, there are 18.5 places of worship per 10,000 residents in Portland, 17.6 places of worship per 10,000 residents in Multnomah County, and 17.7 places of worship per 10,000 residents in Oregon.

Oregon's number of worship places per 10,000 people is just shy of the national average: 19.1 places of worship per 10,000 residents.
