15 To Watch in 2015: Doug Adams

Monday, December 29, 2014

Doug Adams, Chef de Cuisine of Portland's Imperial restaurant, is a rising star in the culinary world and has recently gained national attention as one of the stars of Bravo's Top Chef season 12.

Adams is still in the competition fighting for the title of 'Top Chef' against other nationally renowned chefs, including Gregory Gourdet, head chef at Portland's Departure Lounge

Adams has worked at Chef Vitaly Paley's Imperial restaurant and the Penny Diner  since 2012. He grew up in Tyler, Texas and spent time in Missoula, Montana before moving to Portland in 2008 where he attended Le Cordon Blue culinary school.

In Portland, He first worked at Lucier restaurant on the South Waterfront, but quickly moved on to work at Ping.

In 2011 he began working for Chef Paley at Paley's Place and then moved on to Imperial and the Penny Diner when they opened in 2012. He was soon promoted to Sous Chef at both restaurants.

In a city of stand-out food and culinary artists, Adams has quickly risen to the top of the food scene both locally and nationally. And he isn't stopping there. Look out for what Doug Adams will do in 2015, and if he'll win season 12 of Top Chef.
