Total Quality Logistics (TQL), the second-largest freight brokerage firm in the nation, opened its doors in Portland on Monday.
The new Portland office opens with seven founding members and anticipates adding another 50-75 sales representatives in the next three years, according to TQL.
“Portland’s economic success is closely linked to our active engagement with international markets and global trade," said Mayor Charlie Hales. "We are very pleased to welcome the expansion of Total Quality Logistics here, and we look forward to the new jobs and business opportunities that this national leader in logistics and freight brokerage will bring to Portland.”
TQL connects customers needing to move truckload freight with carriers who have the capacity to move it.
“We’re excited to open an office on the West coast,” said TQL President, Kerry Byrne. “Portland offers an opportunity to attract motivated individuals from surrounding colleges and universities to a challenging and rewarding sales career with our company.”
Prior experience in the logistics industry is not necessary as new hires with the company participate in a 26 week training program, according to TQL.
This is the company’s 30th office in the U.S.
The new Portland office is located at 121 SW Salmon Street, Suite 1440. Job seekers can apply for jobs immediately at www.tqljobs.com.
