Cheryl Strayed to be Keynote Speaker at Community Awards Luncheon

On October 27, New York Times bestselling author and Portland resident Cheryl Strayed will be the keynote speaker for Albertina Kerr’s 108th Annual Meeting & Community Awards Luncheon.
Strayed is best known for her memoir “Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail.” The memoir is about her solo journey hiking the Pacific Crest Trail and is a candid portrayal of both her physical experience and emotional development as she navigates losing her mother and making enormous changes in her life.
Albertina Kerr’s Annual Meeting & Community Awards Luncheon honors community leaders and businesses in support of children, families and adults facing mental health challenges and developmental disabilities.
During the ceremony, the following honorees will be recognized:
Community Service Award: Ted Wheeler, Oregon State Treasurer and Albertina Kerr’s Community Promise Capital Campaign, Honorary Chair
Silver Circle Award: Hillsboro Hops
Community Support, Business Award: Cal Weld
Outstanding Foundation Support: Spirit Mountain Community Foundation
Immediate Past Board Chairs Recognition: Larry Davis, Chair, Governing Board and Keith Meyers, Chair, Foundation Board
Retiring Board Members: Fritz Bartsch, Jerry Baysinger, Angela Hult, Priscilla Lewis, Anton Oehlert, Rich Smith, Serilda Summers-McGee, Karen Wandtke and John Ward
Emeritus Board Member: Anthony J. Seashore
Albertina Kerr’s Annual Meeting & Community Awards Luncheon will take place October 27 at the Sentinel Hotel in Portland with a Luncheon starting at 11:30am. Registration and tickets for the event is available online at AlbertinaKerr.org.
