Forbes Ranks Portland 3rd Best in US for Business and Careers

Forbes in its newest rankings taps Portland only behind Denver, CO, and Raleigh, North Carolina as the best city for the combination of business and career.

 

The good news is Portland scores well for the Forbes ranking of business and careers sector, but the city ranks down the list for the “cost of doing business.  See the rankings.

#3 Best Places for Business and Careers

#73 in Cost of Doing Business
#41 in Job Growth
#42 in Education

In the category for small cities - Oregon ranked among the best in the country led by Bend which ranked in the top five in the United States.

#4 Bend

#11 Corvallis 

#20 Medford

#34 Grants Pass

#76 Albany

Here is what Forbes says about PDX:

Portland has been referred to as one of the most environmentally friendly or green cities in the world. Portland is known for its large number of microbreweries and micro-distilleries, as well as its coffee enthusiasm. The city is home to Portland Community College, Portland State University, Oregon Health & Science University, University of Portland, Reed College, and Lewis & Clark College. It is also the home of the Trail Blazers of the NBA and the Timbers MLS team.
