NEW: Trailblazers Game Canceled by East Coast Blizzard

Monday, January 26, 2015

The NBA announced that the Portland Trail Blazers-Brooklyn Nets game scheduled for Monday night has been rescheduled for April 6.

As the East Coast of the U.S. bears down for a massive blizzard expected to hit Monday, the Blazers are avoiding the region. The Blazers were scheduled to depart New York for Cleveland just when high winds and more than two feet of snow are predicted to blast the city.

The NBA posted on its website Monday that the theam would be rerouted to Cleveland to avoid the storm:

"The Trail Blazers will now fly to Cleveland Monday in order to get out of the New York City before the weather hits. The storm, which meteorologists predict could dump more than two feet of snow and bring 50 mile and hour winds, is expected to roll into the city some time late Monday night, exactly when the Trail Blazers were scheduled to depart to Cleveland."

The Blazers were still scheduled to play the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday.
