NEW: Vancouver Teacher Appears In Court on Child Rape Charge

Wednesday, January 28, 2015

A 34-year-old Vancouver drama teacher appeared in court Wednesday morning and faced three charges in connection with allegations that she had sex with a student at Evergreen High School.

Stephanie McCrea, 34, made her first appearance in Clark County Court Wednesday, and faced charges of child rape, tampering with a witness and sexual misconduct with a minor, according to court staff.

On Tuesday morning McCrea was arrested and booked into Clark County Jail for allegedly having sex with a student at Evergreen High School in Vancouver, according to The Columbian.

The Evergreen School District distributed a letter Tuesday afternoon to parents saying the faculty had been informed of possible “unprofessional conduct between McCrea and a student” and that she had been put on "administrative leave and the Vancouver Police Department was contacted.”

McCrea ‘s arraignment was scheduled for Feb. 11, court staff said.
