Shooting at Alberta St. Last Thursday Festival Leaves 3 Injured

Last night, May 28th, a shooting at Northeast 20th Avenue and Alberta Street during the Last Thursday Festival left two 15-year-old boys and a 25-year-old woman injured. All three victims received treatment at a Portland hospital for non-life threatening injuries, according to Police. 

After firing multiple rounds and striking the three victims, the suspect ran southbound on 20th Avenue and was later captured by police at Northeast 22nd Avenue and Going Street.  Police said neighborhood witnesses gave them critical information that assisted in tracking down the suspect to make the arrest and recover a handgun. 

Police said the suspect, a 16-year-old male, would be booked into the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Home and that his name and charges will be released on Friday. 

Two other men were arrested that were not involved in the shooting but were interfering with the investigation after the fact, according to police. Marcus Cooper, 26, and Loren Ware, 23, were booked on charges of Interfering with a Peace Officer, Disorderly Conduct in the First Degree, Harassment, and Resisting Arrest.
