Police Investigating Death of Newborn in Southeast Portland

East Precinct detectives are conducting a death investigation after East Precinct officers responded to a residence in the 13800 block of Southeast Start Street following a report that a deceased newborn was located inside the residence on Sunday, February 21.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and confirmed the newborn was deceased and learned that a woman was previously transported to the hospital from the residence earlier in the day.

There is no public safety risk associated with this investigation and no further information will be released at this time.
