Man Arrested on 54-Count Indictment on Sex Charges

The Portland Police Bureau arrested a 23-year-old man on a 54-count indictment, including multiple counts of sex charges involving children.

East Precinct officers arrested 23-year-old Jared Kelly White on Tuesday, February 2. White was booked into the Multnomah county jail on 54 felony sex crimes involving children, including 15 counts of sodomy, 11 counts of unlawful sexual penetration and 28 counts of sex abuse.

The charges are the result of three 2015 investigations conducted by the Child Abuse Team involving incidents going back to 2007 involving three juvenile victims.

Detectives learned that White has held several jobs where he had contact with children. White's job history includes working for the Multnomah Education Service District Outdoor School and an event childcare company.

Detectives also have information indicating that here may be additional victims.
