Man Arrested for Secretly Filming People in Bathroom of Portland Optometry Office

Portland Police responded to Northeast Portland optometry office, Eyes on Broadway, Wednesday morning after receiving a report that an employee had concealed his phone in the bathroom and recorded videos. 

When police arrived, the suspect identified as 31-year-old Joshua K. Muller, left the business but later returned and was taken into custody. 

Sex Crimes Unit detectives later served a search warrant at Muller's apartment and detectives were able to identify five victims thus far in the investigation- all employees at the optometrist's office, according to police. 

Muller was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on five counts of Invasion of Personal Privacy, currently a Class A Misdemeanor. 

Detectives believe their may be additional victims discovered as their investigation continues. 

In a statement released Wednesday afternoon, Eyes on Broadway said that upon learning of Muller's criminal activity, Eyes on Broadway immediately turned him in to the police and he was subsequently arrested.  Eyes on Broadway also stated that they ended his employment. 

"The safety and well-being of our employees and patients are of utmost importance to us and we are taking all necessary steps to mitigate any harm that may have been caused by this individual. We are cooperating fully with law enforcement and we are providing our employees with various forms of support following this incident. The offices are closed Wednesday afternoon to allow our employees some time off during this stressful situation.  Our office will reopen Thursday morning as usual. In the interest of protecting the privacy of those who were involved, we will have no further statements on this matter."
