Former Oregon Attorney General Dave Frohnmayer Dies at 74

Frohnmayer passed away Monday night, according the family's spokeswoman, Marla Rae. He was 74 at the time of his death.
Prior to Frohnmayer's tenure as President of UO, he served as Dean of UO's law school. From 1981 to 1991, Frohnmayer served the state as Oregon's top prosecutor. Prior to that, Frohnmayer, a Republican, served as a House Representative from 1975 to 1981 in the Oregon state legislature.
He was the first native Oregonian to be president of a large research university in the state.
Governor Kate Brown issued the following statement on the passing of David Frohnmayer:
"I am heartbroken at the loss of my wonderful and brilliant friend Dave Frohnmayer," said Governor Kate Brown. "His deep love of Oregon is reflected in a lifetime of leadership and public service. My thoughts and prayers go out to Lynn and the Frohnmayer family at this difficult time."
Governor Brown has ordered all state flags to half-staff on the day of Mr. Frohnmayer's memorial service, the date of which has yet to be announced.
