Firefighters Hold Memorial for Shooting Victim
Monday, October 19, 2015
Trevor Anspach, 20, died during the October 1 shooting while using his body to shield another student. He was training to become a Douglas County firefighter.
While he may not have officially joined their company, firefighters honored his memory, forming two lines to create a path for Anspach’s ashes to be carried through, according to the Roseburg News Review.
It was not the first time that mourners turned out in large numbers to honor Anspach’s memory. Last week, more than 350 people went finishing in his honor.
Family and friends have also created the Treven Anspach Memorial Scholarship Fund to help those who “never quit.”
