Officers arrested Marvin Walker Jr., 55, at the car wash and took him into custody. Medical personnel responded and transported Walker to a Portland hospital due to concerns about his behavior and for facial injuries, according to police.
Officers spoke to the first victim, a 25-year-old woman, who said that Walker climbed into the driver's seat of her car as she was vacuuming it. The victim, who is pregnant, confronted him and told him to get out of her car as she removed her 2-year-old child from the back seat and ran away, according to police.
Walker got out of her car and followed her until the second victim, also a 25-year-old woman, called out to the suspect, concerned for the first victim and her son, according to police.
The second victim told police that Walker held her against her car, demanded her car keys and threatened to stab her. The victim pushed and punched the suspect, then ran to the car wash office with the first victim to call 9-1-1, according to police.
Officers learned that the Walker was under the influence of alcohol, methamphetamine and marijuana at the time of the incident.
Walker was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Robbery in the Second Degree, Robbery in the Third Degree and Coercion.
