Bicyclist Dies in Hit and Run; Two Suspects Detained

A bicyclist was killed in a hit and run crash in Northeast Portland this weekend. Police have detained two suspects in connection with the crash.
Police received reports of a bicycle rider down near the 4200 block of the Northeast Portland Highway at 8:38 PM on Saturday, December 12. Officers and medical personnel rushed to the scene and found a male victim suffering from life-threatening injuries.
Medical personnel were unable to save the man’s life and he died at the scene.
Witnesses told police that the bicyclist was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound on Portland Highway. A possible suspect vehicle was located by police and two people were detained at Northeast Sandy Boulevard and I-205. No charges have been filed.
