President Obama will be at the Sentinel Hotel on May 7th, located in downtown Portland, for a fundraiser hosted by the Democratic National Committee (DNC).
The Sentinel (which used to be named the Governor) was once an Elk's Club.
Two movies were shot at the hotel - Gus Van Sant's My Own Private Idaho and a number of scenes of Body of Evidence with Madonna.
The money raised from this event will be funneled to the DNC’s White House Victory fund.

The President is expected to speak about the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) while at the Nike World Headquarters.
The TPP is a free-trade proposal that he has been working on for the past six years. His hope is to have it completed at some point in 2015. This partnership has divided Democrats in Oregon’s Congressional Delegation. U.S. Senator Ron Wyden and U.S. Representative Earl Blumenauer support this agreement while U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley does not. U.S. Representative Peter DeFazio has also been skeptical about this agreement.
