Portland's Rock 'n' Roll Camp for Girls honors leading ladies in music with an awards ceremony and fundraiser on Nov. 22.

The Leading Ladies ceremony will honor China Forbes, Storm Large, Maggie Vail of Hurry Up & Strange Babes, Kathy Foster of the Thermals and Rebecca Gates of The Spinanes.

Rock 'n' Roll Camp is a non profit that teaches girls about music, self expression, creativity and giving back to the community. The awards ceremony is meant to honor the women who lead the way and set an example for women in the music industry. Leading Ladies is the first award ceremony that honors women in Portland for their musical achievements.

Last year, Leading Ladies honored Toody Cole of Dead Moon, Corin Tucker of The Corin Tucker Band and Sleater-Kinney.

The event will feature a Photo booth by Jason Kinney and many auction items.

The Leading Ladies ceremony runs 6 PM - 10 PM, Sat. Nov. 22, Wonder Ballroom, 128 Northeast Russell St. All ages, $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
