PDX Ranked as “Happiest” Airport

In a recent poll by the dating website, Miss Travel, over 50,000 members ranked Portland International Airport as the happiest airport in the United States - and it's not just because of the new carpet

Miss Travel is a dating website that specializes in connecting travel enthusiasts, who are also looking for companionship.

Not surprisingly, these constantly traveling members are going to be more sensitive to whether or not an airport is actually comfortable and a pleasant place to wait in for potentially several hours.  So when they pick Portland, it’s a pretty big deal.

Then again, why wouldn’t Portland be ranked as the happiest airport?

PDX boasts more than 23 shops and services, including merchandisers that are only found in Oregon, such as Powell’s City Books and Made in Oregon.

The airport also offers a wide range of food options for travelers with long layovers including my personal favorite, Gustav’s

So if you’re in the middle of booking your summer vacation already, you might want to make sure that any long layovers take place in Portland.
