Oregon’s favorite home-grown orchestra, Pink Martini, returned this week to team up with the Oregon Symphony for two incredible performances—led by Music Director Carlos Kalmar and Pink Martini front man Thomas Lauderdale—that wrapped up the symphony’s current season.

For the show, Pink Martini who was joined by China Forbes and the Oregon Symphony put a salsa spin on Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf. The Wednesday night concert concluded with a rousing version of Brazil followed by Thomas who individually thanked each and every symphony member onstage.

The season-closer was followed by a late-night after-party at Thomas Lauderdale’s loft where symphony members and concert-goers gathered to celebrate a successful season. Global nibbles and sips were provided to the likes of Oregon Symphony Executive Scott Showalter, Drs. Fernando and Dolores Leon, Voodoo Doughnuts Tres Shannon, Michae and Ida Rae Cahana, China Forbes, Howie Bierbaum and Peter Parisot among others. Toward the end of the evening Mr. Lauderdale led a group in a rousing sing-a-long that lasted way into the wee hours of the night.
