Oregon, Number One Destination State

Monday, January 12, 2015

Oregon is the number one destination state in the U.S., according to a study from United Van Lines.

The study tracked 128,000 out-of-state moves in 2014, and found that more Americans moved to Oregon than any other state. The company also found that 66 percent of all Oregon moves were from people moving into the state rather than leaving it.

2014 was the second year in a row that Oregon topped the list of destination states.

Why are so many people moving to Oregon? Oregonians already know the answer to that, and apparently so does everyone else.

"It has green forests and bike friendly cities, an abundance of craft beer, and -- despite the rain -- it's where everyone wants to be," states and article by CNN Money.

The Daily Mail referred to Oregon as "the modern day Oregon trail, " because people are still coming here looking for a better life, including green spaces and affordable living.

CNNMoney also named Portland one of the most innovative cities in the U.S. for being ahead of the curve in urban planning.
