Conference for Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse Held in Portland

The conference is entitled Male Survivor Dare to Dream Weekend and is open to male survivors, their loved ones, and professionals or advocates who work for male survivors.
The Oregon Abuse Advocates & Survivors in Service has partnered with
Reed College’s Sexual Assault and Prevention and Response program to host a special conference for male survivors of sexual abuse and assault on Friday and Saturday, May 29th and 30th. The conference is entitled
Male Survivor Dare to Dream Weekend and is open to male survivors, their loved ones, and professionals or advocates who work for male survivors.
At the conference, attendees will have the chance to participate in two workshops. Training for individuals who work or volunteer to treat and support survivors will occur on Friday from 9am to 4:30 pm. Register HERE for this event.
Also on Friday, attendees will see portions of the documentaries “Boys and Men Healing” and “Yeah, Maybe No.” Following the screenings, there will be a panel discussion with Howard Fradkin, PhD., survivors, and mental health care professionals. The Friday evening portion of the conference will be free and open to the public.
Lastly, the Saturday workshop will last from 9am – 4:30pm and is entitled Day of Recovery. Please register HERE.
The conference will be held at Reed College and is supported in part by donations from the Dumas Law Group.
