All Jane Comedy Festival Coming to Portland

A five-day comedy event, All Jane Comedy Festival, is coming to Northeast Portland in celebration of women comedians. The festival will include well-known headlining female acts throughout the United States and Canada, as well as local up-and-coming performers.

The event will take place October 14-18 in several venues around Portland, including Curious Comedy Theatre, Helium Comedy Club, Alberta Street Pub and Red Rose Ballroom. There will be a special opening night held at Helium Comedy Club featuring local and national acts.

The 2015 All Jane Festival includes stand-up showcases, a live taping of popular podcast, The JV Club, workshops, and special themed shows.

Performers from New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, and throughout the Pacific Northwest will share the stage with Pacific Northwest powerhouses such as Amy Miller (Last Comic Standing), Kristine Levine, Bri Pruett, Whitney Streed, Barbara Holm, JoAnn Schinderle, Elicia Sanchez, Mona Concepcion, Caitlin Weierhauser, Katie Rose Leon, Katie Nguyen, and All Jane founder and Curious Comedy/All Jane Comedy Fest Artistic Director, Stacey Hallal.

Other performers include Janet Varney (You’re the Worst, SF Sketchfest founder, JV Club host), Page Hurwitz (stand-up comic and Executive Producer of Last Comic Standing), Karen Kilgariff (Mr. Show, CONAN), Nicole Byer (Girl Code, The Pursuit of Sexiness), Sarah Burns (Enlightened, Drunk History), and Alice Wetterlund (Silicon Valley, Girl Code).

The festival is meant to highlight women’s voices within the comic sphere and inspire women performers nationally. Jane Comedy Festival promotes the diversity that exists within this artistic releam and celebrates the women that are a part of it.

Most events during the five-day festival will be located at Curious Comedy Theatre. Curious Comedy is a non-profit dedicated to helping local and up-coming comedians develop their art.
