He is a gentle soul who is quite content to sit next to you (or on your lap) and purr. Oswald is shy and fearful in new surroundings or with new people, but very quickly that changes, and he comes out his shell and meows to be petted and scratched behind his ears. Children would probably too much for him, so he is recommending a quiet home for himself. He is sweet-natured and friendly once you get past that initial shyness.
