Piqniq is a location-based food app that combines our need of wanting something good to eat with our need of sharing pictures of delicious dishes with friends.
Known for being filled with foodies, Portland has been chosen as THE city to launch the new food app,
Piqniq.
Piqniq is a location-based food app that combines our need of wanting something good to eat with our need of sharing pictures of delicious dishes with friends.
Users will be able to locate restaurants, share pictures of food, and much more with this app. If you’re just wanting a quiet night in, though, the app also provides fun, new ideas for what to make at home.
It took the leaders of Piqniq a while to decide what city should be the launching place for the app.
They traveled for two years searching for the perfect spot, and spent several weeks in another food hub, San Francisco.
After spending only three days in Portland, though, it was evident that Portland would be Piqniq’s new “home.”
According to Kate Keihl, a spokesperson for Piqniq, Portland was chosen due to its strong sense of community and the “collaborative nature of PDX dwellers.”
Currently, the app is still in the early stages of release, and beta users are helping to refine the iOS app before its mass release at the APP store. However, if you just can’t wait to take your food and social media obsessions to the next level, sign up HERE.
