Portland is the 5th best major food city in America, according to a new ranking by Thrillist

The site examined the food scene in every U.S. city with a population close to or greater than 500,000 people. The 40 cities were ranked based on their finest establishments, signature contributions and traditions, and the strength of their dinning cultures.

Thrillist describes Portland as a "food-lover's fantasy land, loaded with high-profile, nationally relevant restaurants ranging from Pok Pok to Toro Bravo, Beast, Paley’s Place, and Le Pigeon."

The site also raves about Portland's dense and unique food cart scene, affordable options, food diversity, and focus on local growing.

We already knew we were amazing at our food and our beer, but who beat us? See slides below to find out.
