As PDX Beer Week comes to a close there is still one big event to attend. Portland residents, kick off the official start of summer at the 1st annual Sour Solstice Berliner Weisse & Gose Festival.
A unique selection of 10 tart and refreshing, German-style sour wheat beers brewed by breweries across the States. The country comes together for one night to dive-in on some of the highest quality brews in our great nation.
Ticket purchase in advance is running at $15, and tickets at the door are going for $20.
The fun doesn’t stop with your average pint. A variety of syrups will be made available at the venue for mixing with the Berliners.
Sour Solstice will also have a new up and coming food option for those attending. Portland’s first bicycle food cart will be at the event. “The Portland Crab Cart” will be hitting the grill hard cooking up scrumptious dungeness crab cakes.
Don’t miss the last hoorah of PDX beer week. June 20-21 at noon is when the event kicks off. Sour Solstice is hosted at Imperial Bottle Shop & Taproom, 3090 Southeast Division Street Portland, OR 97202.

If they have already earned a black belt in beer geekdom, the obvious next step is to brew beer with a home grown product. Water doesn’t grow and our source here is top notch. Malts? That’s a lot of barley to grow. Yeast? Yuck. That leaves hops. While it may not be planting season, Tony’s Garden Center will set you up.
