Bend Ranked Number 1 Beer City in U.S.

Monday, December 08, 2014

Bend is the number one beer city in the U.S., according to Livability. The site ranked cities based on factors including number of breweries per capita, unusual flavors, beer consumption and award-winning breweries.

“Bend offers innovative and award-winning breweries, residents who consume beer at higher rates than the average American, sophisticated beer tastes and a high-quality of life for beer lovers,” according to a news release to the Bend Bulliten.

Livability also mentioned some unusual flavors created by Bend breweries, the growler-fill stations around town, the Bend Ale Trail, and 'Dawg Grog,' a Bend-made nonalcoholic beer for dogs.

Only in Oregon do dogs drink beer.
