In a flurry of floral maxi dresses and obnoxious slogan tank tops, some Portlanders this week went in the opposite direction and stuck to simple well constructed pieces.

A young woman pairs a classic dark blue coat and a solid shirt with grid pants and powder blue Nikes.

Another wore a black bowler hat with a menswear denim jacket and Clarks from Goodwill.

A man wears a wide brimmed black Brixton hat with a white Chrome tee and dark camo pants.
