Maya wearing a hat bought at PDX boutique Communion.

Portland Threads is GoLocalPDX's weekly review of what Portlanders are wearing on the streets.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that hats are my all time favorite accessory. Who agrees? Forget scarves or clangy bangles, hats add a certain charm, coolness, and charisma to any outfit.

This week Portlanders put on their favorite hats and walked the concrete streets looking effortlessly collected.

SLIDES: Portland Threads: Head Toppers Slideshow BELOW

A wide brimmed hat and brass accessories give a black and white outfit a special charm and uniqueness.

A shoe designer reps his own cap with a Nike sweatshirt and thrifted pants.

Another wears a thrifted floppy summer hat with a dangling gold necklace, long gray cardigan, and white spotted dress.

A cap from a “random Russian club,” electric blue skinnies, and a WESC red and white sporty inspired jacket make for a eye catching look that screams “look at me” in a sea of black and white outfits.
