New Pop-Up Shops in Old Town this Holiday Season

Local designers and brands have turned an empty retail space into temporary stores for this holiday season.
The Draplin Design Company pop-up, features beanies, posters and Northwest-specific items. The pop up is also selling the entire Field Notes product line. Coudal Partners of Chicago and Draplin Design Company, came together to create the memo book brand in hopes of offering “an honest memo book worth fillin’ up with good information," as their slogan says.
Looking to find a simple gift for your bicyclist friend? North Street Bags may have just what you're looking for. North Street Bags creates waterproof convertible backpacks and travel packs for urban cyclist. The line is built from U.S. made materials and is manufactured in Portland. The North Street Bags pop up features exclusive merchandise and bicycle- related gifts and accessories.
Asian inspired pop-up, Omiyage (Japanese for souvenir), will be selling gifts and crafts by local artisans, authors, and designers, as well as jewelry, fashion and origami ornaments. Anime readers will be happy to find anime -inspired merchandise, art objects and books by local authors here too.
The PDX Pop-Up program is known for launching permanent shops like Crafty Wonderland and Bridge and Burn. Partners of the project include Portland Business Alliance and the Clean & Safe District, Portland Development Commission, Downtown Retail Advocate, Downtown Marketing Initiative and Travel Portland, and Beardsley Building Management.
All three pop-ups are now open through Dec. 24, Tuesday through Saturday from 11 AM - 7 PM, and Sunday 12 PM - 5 PM at 11 NW 5th Avenue.
