Kiehl’s Since 1851 will open April 24th, at Washington Square.
New York based apothecary shop,
Kiehl’s Since 1851, will open its second Portland-Metro store in Washington Square Mall on April 24th.
“We are extremely excited to give our Portland community a new opportunity to discover our heritage and history, our philanthropic mission, our sampling and service-oriented approach to retail, and of course, our full line of skin, hair and body care for women, men, children, and even pets,” said Chris Salgardo, President, Kiehl’s USA.
The store’s interior design mirrors the unique atmosphere found in the company’s original New York Flagship, which began as a neighborhood apothecary in 1851.
The energy-efficient light fixtures, antique apothecary fixtures and natural, sustainable materials incorporated within the space, advances Kiehl’s longtime commitment to the environment and enhances the service experience for Kiehl’s patrons.
Other interior design features include a 7 foot personal consultation table for complimentary Healthy Skin Consultations and a space for grooming education and demos. Kiehl’s icon, “Mr. Bones” – the teaching skeleton will also be at the store to help explain the uses of the suggested formulas.
The new space will open at 4 pm this Friday, with giveaways for the first 50 guests, free 20-minute seated facials, with-purchase gifts, and cold refreshments.
“Portland shoppers have been instrumental in Kiehl’s growth, and we’re so proud to open at Washington Square, giving our Tigard customers a store closer to home,” says Salgardo.
Kiehl’s Grand Opening at Washington Square, 9585 SW Washington Square Rd., 503-431-6584, 4 pm, Friday, April 24th. For more information click HERE.

Thomas Yates, Bass Guitarist for Melville
New Year Resolutions:
"In organizing our musical plan, we came to the realization that we want to project an image of understated professionalism. The reason for this is two-fold: First, we consider ourselves professional musicians. Second, we want our image to support the original music we make, not interfere with it. So, we have resolved to be conscious of, and perpetuate that image."
