Clothing Store Machus Celebrates Three Years in PDX
Thursday, November 13, 2014
Since opening in 2011, Machus has been the go to place for buying great quality menswear pieces that incorporate high fashion and streetwear design.
Join Machus this Saturday November 15, in celebrating three years in Portland with a party featuring drinks, and black macaroons by Portland Patisserie, Nuvrei. Get to the party early in order to score a gift bag, that will only be given to the first 25 customers. Special guest, DJ Graham Bond Girl will be providing the music for the event.
A new special edition t-shirt designed by Berto Herrera and printed on Machus Private Label T’s will be sold at the event as well. Herrera took inspiration from Japanese wood printing and “made a print that is both classic and very contemporary using progressive screenprinting with tonal and reflective elements,” said owner Justin Machus.
The Machus Private Label is an ongoing project of clothing and accessories, designed by the Machus team, and made entirely in downtown Los Angeles. The clothing is made to be worn together, and can easily be incorporated with other brands sold at the store. “This project is seasonless and is designed to fill the gaps that we see in the industry. The Private Label has taken on its own fan base and has become a strong focus for moving forward,” said Machus.
Justin Machus opened his first store, Local35, in 2003, selling menswear and womenswear in the Hawthorne neighborhood. After 8 years in business, Machus needed a change and decided to open, the store Machus, selling clean and modern menswear from emerging labels.
The three year anniversary party will be at the Machus store, 542 East Burnside Street, from 6 pm - 9 pm on Saturday, November 15th. For more information click here.
