Countdown to Portland’s TBA Festival

Sunday, September 07, 2014

It's less than a week to the launch of the Portland Institue of Contemporary Art's Time Based Art (TBA) festival, with only a few days left to purchase tickets for the opening night dinner next Friday.

The festival kicks off with a dinner at Fashion Tech, and the last day to purchase tickets for the Friday night feast is this Monday, Sept. 8.

TBA features local, national, and international artists for a convergence of contemporary performance and visual art. The 10-day festival includes artist workshops, performances and late-night parties and events in a myriad of public spaces in Portland.

At the dinner, guests will get a first look at this year's TBA festival events.

The dinner is crafted by Stacey Givens of Portland's Side Yard Farm, with table vessels designed by artist Daniel Duford

Givens is a combination urban farmer and chef, working closely with other farmers, ranchers, and artists to source every element of the meal as locally as possible. The dinner is described as  an urban DIY feast.

Cocktails will be served at 7 p.m., with dinner at 8. The event is open to anyone 21 or older; tickets cost $100.

The event is at Portland's Fashion Tech, 2010 SE 8th Ave. on Sept. 11.

Interested persons can view the full menu online.
