Portland's Time Based Art Festival (TBA) kicks off with a performance by the musical duet, THEESatisfaction. THEESatisfaction's Stasia Irons and Catherine Harris-White are Seattle based musicians who write, produce and perform jazz and soul music.

THEESatisfaction holds the opening night performance spot at 'The Works,' where TBA goes after dark. 'The Works' is an after party that begins every night of the ten day long festival at 10 p.m. Here artists and guests can drink, dance, and see a myriad of performances, music, and film.

The duet describe their music as blend of jazz, soul, hip-hop, electronic, and dance. They're "black women leaping oceans and continents at a single bound, with positive strength of purpose," according to the Portland Institue of Contemporary Art (PICA).

Stasia was born and raised in Tacoma, Wash., Cat in Seattle, Washington and Hawaii. They met at the University of Washington and have been making music together ever since.

THEESatisfaction's show is from 10:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. Sept. 11 at The Works venue: Fashion Tech at 2010 SE 8th Avenue, Portland.

Admittance is free and guests must be 21 years or older.
