Portland's 7th annual 'Fertile Ground' festival of New Works is set to kick off on Jan. 22.

The 11 day long festival will feature playwrights, actors, dancers, designers and adventuresome producers.

With wide variety of new producers, along with several returning companies, the festival will bring dozens of new works from Portland artists to stages all over the city.

In addition to seasoned producers, dozens of young producers, playwrights and choreographers will also offer their work for this collaborative Portland showcase festival.

“Our city is a special place, a place where creativity thrives and creators are (almost literally) on every corner,” said Nicole Lane, Fertile Ground Festival Director. “Likewise, Fertile Ground is an incubator for new works of art creation citywide in theatres, pubs, studios, community centers and galleries all over town in January. This festival is about that phenomenon, that impetus, that undercurrent in our city’s culture to create everywhere, anywhere, with abounding diversity.”

Fertile Ground Festival runs from Jan. 22 to Feb. 1. Full event listings including production descriptions, locations, times and ticket information can  be found here
